Board Chairman

Ahmed Bin Issa Al Jaber joined the board in 2015, and became Chairman in 2018. He is an experienced director and chair having chaired Continent Oil and MBI Investment Management, as well as having served on other asset management boards, including East Capital. This relevant experience provides him with the skills needed to build and lead an effective and cohesive board. His significant experience in Europe and international financial services enables him to effectively lead the board on key business matters including strategy, performance and risk. Ahmed graduated from Tufts University. He also received an MBA from Havard Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Chief Executive

Atal Mittal was appointed CEO in 2018, having previously served as Interim CEO from August 2017 when he was appointed as a Director. He started his career at the mergers and acquisitions department of Morgan Stanley investment. He led HSBC’s acquisitions of Swan National Motor Finance and Eversholt Leasing Ltd, becoming General Manager of each business. He was also at different times Head of Specialised and Equity Finance at HSBC, Group Director of Strategy & Development at HSBC Insurance Services North America, Head of Commercial Finance & Head of Commercial Banking.He was also formerly Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of DBS Banking Group, having previously served the Group as Chief Financial Officer and then as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2001. He co-led Mittal Steel's offer for Arcelor that led to its acquisition and merger with Mittal Steel in 2006. Atal qualified as an accountant in 1991. He also holds an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Global Chief Information Officer

Bridget Carter is a member of the Group Management Committee and Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a member of the Group Management Committee. She is responsible for the firm's technology systems and infrastructure worldwide. She also serves as the co-sponsor of the firm's Access Ability Business Resource Group. Bridget joined the firm in 2014, and was most recently the Chief Information Officer for the Corporate & Investment division. Prior to joining the firm she was Executive Vice President of Specialty Businesses and Information Technology for WestPoint, Inc. Bridget has been named a Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader. She has been featured in many publications including Fortune, Computerworld, eFinancial Careers and MIT Sloan Management Review. She also served as a member of the University of Cincinnati's Lindner College of Business Advisory Council and has endowed a scholarship at the University to support the growing number of women in STEM careers. Bridget holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Dayton.

Head of Assets & Wealth Management

Mary Christopher is the Head of Assets & Wealth Management. Since joining the firm in 2013. Mary has held senior roles across Assets & Wealth Management before becoming its head in 2019. Mary served on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets, and on the boards of the U.S.-China Business Council and the Robin Hood Foundation of New York City. She was also a board member of Georgetown University, where she earned her Mathematics undergraduate degree, and served on the Global Advisory Council of Harvard University, where she received her MBA.

General Counsel

Stanley Soros is the General Counsel. He is responsible for exposure to legal risk, including litigation and enforcement matters, advising on products and services, and advocacy in laws, rules and regulations. Most recently, Stanley was the Deputy General Counsel for the firm and the General Counsel for the Corporate & Investment Division. He joined the company in 2015 from Ernest & Crow LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group and a Key advisor to the firm. He is a member of the board for the National Law Center. He received his B.A from the University of California, Los Angeles, and J.D. from Duke University School of Law.

Head of Asian Region

Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Ghurair is Head of Asian Region, Global Head of Corporate Responsibility and a member of the Management Committee. He is the firm’s senior executive in Asia. He also oversees a number of global functions, including Government Relations, Public Policy, Philanthropy, Sustainable Finance, and Nonprofit Engagement. He is Chairman of the Dutch Horizon Group Foundation, and has led the development of a number of the firm’s flagship programs, including the £150 million investment in the regeneration of the City of London. He spent nearly a decade in public service. Appointed by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VP and Prime Minister of the UAE as Special Trade Ambassador and served as one of the lead negotiators on China's entry into the WTO Organization. He also served as UAE’s Representative to the Asia Dutch Horizon Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) Business Advisory Council. He received his B.A. and JD from American University, Washington College of Law.

Arnon Arison is the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Committee As CFO, Arnon is responsible for a number of areas, including Finance and Business Management, the Chief Investment Office and Administrative Office. Arnon spent more than 10 years at Bank Hapoalim in Isreal. He was Head of Consumer & Community Banking division and Chief Financial Officer for Mortgage banking. He joined Dutch Horizon in 2014 and has held progressively responsible roles in the Corporate & Investment Banking division serving as Controller for Global Equities and Prime Services, CFO and Controller for the Proprietary Positioning and Principal Investments Management, and CFO for the Investment Bank Credit Portfolio as well as several Fixed Income markets businesses. Arnon holds a B.SC degree from Fairfield University and an MBA from Tel Aviv University, Leon Recanati Graduate School of Business Administration.

Chief Risk Officer

Ronald Timothy is the Chief Risk Officer. He is responsible for Risk Management and Compliance across the whole Group. He reports to the CEO, Atal Mittal and the Risk Committee of the Board. Ronald provides oversight of the firm’s spectrum of risk-taking activities encompassing economic credit, market, liquidity, principal, capital and country, as well as other core risks including operational, model, compliance, conduct, legal, capital and reputation risk, with controls and governance established for each area as appropriate. He joined the Risk Division in 2014. Over the course of his career, he also worked in our Tokyo, Dubai and London offices in a variety of trading roles, including leading those regional businesses. Before joining BDG, he traded international government bonds for Daiwa Securities. Ronald holds a degree in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics.

Head of Human Resources

Howard Ascot is the head of Human Resources, and a member of the Group Management Committee. Prior to assuming this role in January 2018, Howard held a number of leadership positions in Human Resources, including Human Resources Executive for Corporate & Investment division, Human Resources Executive supporting the Corporate functions. Before joining Dutch Horizon in 2015, Howard spent more than 20 years at Citi and its predecessor companies, starting at Shearson Lehman Hutton. Over the years, Howard has worked in a variety of disciplines, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and generalist functions supporting multiple lines of businesses. For over a decade, he was the Head of Human Resources for the wealth management businesses, which included Smith Barney, the Private Bank and Investment Research. After the sale of Smith Barney, Howard spent his last year at Citi leading the Human Resources team supporting Citi Holdings, Citi’s divesting businesses.

Head of Corporate & Investment Banking

Juan Fernandez is a member of the Group Management Committee and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Division. He began as a financial analyst and foreign exchange trader at Manufacturers Hanover in 2003 in Buenos Aires. In 2005, he was appointed head of Sales for Chemical Bank, responsible for clients in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Shortly after, he became head trader and Treasurer of Chemical Bank in Mexico. Juan moved to London in 2009 to oversee local markets in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia for Chase Manhattan, later taking charge of the markets side of the firm’s emerging-market business. In early 2011, Juan was made global head of Emerging Markets. He was given added responsibility for the Global Credit Trading & Syndicate business in early 2012. He joined Dutch Horizon in 2014, as co-head of Global Fixed Income for the Investment division before becoming sole head of the group in 2016. He became Global Head the Corporate & Investment division in 2018 to identify and pursue critical firm wide opportunities. Juan holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting and Business Administration from Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora in Buenos Aires. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance and on the Executive Committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
